Gor Mahia registered members have given the club Executive committee to issue a detailed report within 28 days on measures to be taken to end internal wrangles in the club.

Over 77 registered members led by Joshua Waka and Duncan Owuor demanded to know why there was disharmony in the Executive committee.

The members have subsequently given the Council of Chairman (CC) 14 days to initiate an engagement with the warring factions of the Executive Committee (EC), with an aim of finding a lasting solution to the current squabbles in the club.

In a hurriedly convened Press conference held at the Makongeni social Hall, the aggrieved members  said  they are fed  up with the endless accusations and counter accusations  among the EC members .

Subsequently, the club members have demanded a report from the CC within the next 28 days from the date of the receipt of the submitted letter or they take drastic measures that include a vote of no confidence or any other action.

Efforts to get comment from Rachier proved fruitless as he was unable to be reached. However, a club officials who declined to be named urged members to be patient as they try to put their house in order.

He said the Corona pandemic and the long lay-off in the Kenya Premier League hit the club’s financial kitty as there was no money from their sponsor’s to maintain their secretariat and pay the players.

In a letter that was copied to the club patron Raila Odinga and the club Chairman, the members said in part “It is sad, with all existing available opportunities.

Gor Mahia ought to be a giant in Africa having won the local league over 18 years and currently they are the defending Champions for the last consecutive four years.

Rachier has been at loggerheads with the club secretary General Samuel Ocholla trading accusations against each other.

‘We should be wallowing in the highest League of prosperity with the likes of Esperence of Tunisia, TP Mazembe and Sundowns of South Africa among others.

The biggest objective of this engagement should be  to ensure that peace and harmony prevails among the EC members, a tranquilty that is triggered by transparency  and accountability,” observed Waka who read the statement.

“Should the EC fail to engage with you, added Waka, on working in harmony and put the house in order, then we as the bonafide registered members together with the fan base at large, will communicate  the next course of action.”
