Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has promised to improve the infrastructure of Homa Bay County as a matter of priority.
Kidero who has declared his interest to run for the Governor’s position took his bid to the people over the weekend traversing parts of the vast region with stops in urban centres, calling for residents’ backing.
In a tour that started in Kabondo Kasipul on Friday afternoon, the former Nairobi Governor campaigned for peace and development putting a strong case for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) spearheaded by ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
While extolling his ambitions for the county, Kidero noted that peace and development can only come if there was a unity of purpose, calling on the residents to inculcate unity and understanding on many development issues affecting them.
At the famous Oyugis Market on Friday, Kidero promised to offer true servitude to the people of his home county with promise to do more in support of education, He also toured Ndhiwa, Kabondo, and Karachuonyo
Kidero asked the residents to support BBI.
The former governor pledged to build cotton, fish and pineapple factories to create jobs for the residents.
“Homa Bay is endowed with a lot of resources which can be used to positively change the lives of residents if prudently utilised,” he said.
